COSTUME SUPERVISION & MANAGEMENT
As someone whose high school theatre costuming experience consisted of rummaging through the stock costume closet and seeing what fit, simply attending a university with a real, strong, and diverse theatre program has already expanded my knowledge of theatrical costuming exponentially. Though I am just beginning my career and have infinite information to learn and experiences to have, I feel that my short time at Ball State University has already brought so much to me. As a young theatre artist, I look forward to seeing what paths my career takes me down, meeting a wide and various array of people, and developing my craft in whatever ways the future sees fit.
What excites me about theatrical costuming is that it is a key element in creating the world and magic of a show. One of my absolute favorite feelings in the world is seeing a production come alive on stage, especially in the first few moments or opening number, and the faster the design elements can draw me into the world, the better. I just want to be a part of creating that feeling for other people, and since I can't sing or dance, I suppose I'll have to make costumes work.
